Did I mention before that I was busy drafting a design for our solemnisation? Yes I was…. and I was searching high and low for a reasonable priced printer here at home. I must say…it is a good yet eye-opening experience…becos its through this that I realise how EXPENSIVE production can be in Singapore. Really! Why is that so? I have no idea….maybe Singaporeans are not fond of producing their own stuff…and the market here is so small its hard to earn a living through production. Sighz….

Good thing I went on bridal forums to check out if they have cheaper options to offer. Indeed they do!!! Instead of doing their printing of wedding cards in Singapore…which most couples still do….quite a number of resourceful couples actually found a printing shop up in JB CitySquare mall that offers Cheaper printing services. Its call T&T printing….they have no website to look at. So you either trust your instinct or trust those of us who are daring enough to go all the way there to save abit of money. ๐Ÿ™‚ And truly we did save!!!

So…we took the risk… we drove all the way down to JB….to try our luck…I was ready to be disappointed and leave empty handed.

Btw..this is a copy of the design of my invite. ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope you like it.

Not a very professional pcs…but I am an amateur…and when I did this…I have not started my design course yet. So its kinda better than I expected for someone who has no formal training in design. ๐Ÿ™‚ then again….the whole designing process for this card was made so much easier simple because I am a New Mac user… ๐Ÿ™‚ and I’m loving it ever since. The kind of applications I could download at a very low cost really made it all worthwhile. It definitely helped alot.

So…I took one of the templates from the card design application that I downloaded and tweek a little here….and little there. And Viola! I got this! Hahaha….and the cartoon on the back ….I drew it using the Wacom Tablet I got for my birthday present this yr. VERY USEFUL!!!

Ok…So…are you ready to see the Finish Product?? Here it is….in hardcopy…so picture quality may not do justice for the actual quality of the card.

The paper quality is really good. The type of material used is also close to my ideal. I have to say I am very happy with the outcome of the printing service as well as the quality. The lady at the shop was also very patient and friendly. And she gave us discount!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hmmm….for a moment now I cant seem to remember how much it all cost. If I am not wrong…it cost about $1 per pc for glossy print as well as thick card material (not postcard thick), not glossy photopaper (the only kind that shops in Singapore offer at a cheaper price)…this one is much thicker..which would be at least $1.80 and above in singapore. I will have to go back and check and append this post.

Where is it? Its at CitySquare JB Level 4. Take the escalator up to the 4th floor…look ard the level…it has a large sign that says T&T printing, you won’t miss it.

As the date of my engagement draws near…I am beginning to get a little worried…simply because I have LESS TIME to prepare and get my stuff done. Jeesh….And I like started prepping super early!! Darn!! Where did all that time go?..(I have been very very busy and preoccupied with other stuff…juggling work, weekly sports and my design course at night as well as homework and assignments from that.) Sighz…tho its super tiring…I am really enjoying the latter. Not my work! (I hate my job!….but it pays….so I have to stick to it…for now.)

Plan: To resign once the wedding is over …which is in 2013…I am not sure if I can tahan working there that long…..might want to push forward if I can find something new…..maybe after the engagement. ๐Ÿ™‚ Something to look forward to! Hopefully I can find something I enjoy doing … eventually. o.O”

Ah….side track abit….okok! Let’s get back to what I am suppose to be talking about…The HAPPY stuff…. instead of the negative stuff (i.e. Work). Cos Wedding is always positive..and it makes me happy talking and planning everything. I am not sure why I don’t seem to mind the whole stress and hassles of planning the wedding…in fact I am loving every minute of the process of putting the littlest details together. Can’t WAit for the DAY to come!!!

Alrite! So ….Decos! Sourcing decos for the wedding….well…. its sort of more or less settled since Seb’s Bistro’s got me settled on my florist.ย Poppy Floral Studio will be doing my floral deco for the day. I think its going to be rather simple becos of BUDGET CONTRAINTS again…. (this set of words keep popping up everywhere!!! I hate it!!! ย ๐Ÿ˜ฆ IF ONLY…..anyhow….let’s make the best out of what we can afford).

What’s left to do is…to beef up the deco to create a cosy yet fun atmosphere for my guests and MYSELF!! Hahaha….

I’m thinking of hanging stuff ard the bistro…. Lanterns or Pom-Pom? Again…I found rather reasonable decorative stuff from my fav. wedding product site Good Things Wedding Favorsย .

POM-POMS (Blue in color)

$16.90 USD for a set of 5 pom-poms. Not a bad price. I get 5 pcs to hang ard…

POM-POMS (Pink in color)

Pink ones cost $16.50 USD for a set of 5. Dunno why its cheaper….but I’m happy that it is!!!

Come to think of it….you can actually find Pom-poms at http://www.etsy.com some of the sellers handcrafted their poms and sell em. ๐Ÿ™‚

Glass Candle Holders!! (Super cool…can imagine them hanging from the beams…with litted candles in them..ahhh….)

$5.00 USD per bottle. Minimum order of 12 pcs. Abit ex…after you work out the entire cost.

ROUND PAPER LANTERNSย (A variety of assorted colors as well as sizes)

$ 1.99 USD each 10 inch diameter.
$ 4.76 USD each 18 inch diameter.
$ 7.10 USD eachย 24 inch diameter. (not too bad a price)

Check out this arrangement suggested by the website. REALLY PRETTY!! I LOVE IT!! I wish I could get a similar effect!!

(Wonder if my florist will get me blue table dressers…..I should ask her about it)

How pretty are these!? ….I love how retro it looks! unfortunately…its not meant as a light source. DAMN it…cannot put candles inside. ย I really love these Eyelet ones….

Comes in PINK too….OMG!!! DOUBLE LOVE!!!

Price? $14.90 USD for a set of 3 lanterns. (again not a bad price for such a unique pcs of deco)

Just for laughs…….
Fancy putting this to dress up the ambience! LOL!!!!! Yeay…maybe if my theme is RED in color! Hahaha…can’t believe they sell this one too. $10USD for one!! OMG….
Jokes Aside……

Ah!! A perfect solution for burning lanterns and topple candles….I present to you…..

I am LOVING this site more and more…..it has everything!!! even chinese lanterns! Hahaha…..but really….this is perfect!!!ย

$5.20 USD for a set of 4…..minimum order of 2…which means I’ll have 8.

Alrite…I m planning to improvise….eventho they mentioned that the eyelet lanterns are not meant as light source….I am thinking of tying the battery candles to strings and hanging it in the lanterns. What do you think? Do-able?

Btw…these are not the only lanterns they sell…in fact…they sell an assortment of sizes and design…check out the site…you might find something u like at a reasonable cost than what wedding planners or service can offer you here at home.

Anyway….I am now thinking…instead of using Pink and Blue lanterns….I might wan to mix it up abit…and have All Lanterns in Pink and perhaps….other hanging decos in different shapes in blue…maybe blue ribbons or rice paper) So that it won’t look so cluttered.

Then again…I think I might need to pick and stick to a dominant color. And use that color as the main color…and the other to compliment. Which will it be? Pink? or Blue? Gosh…I cannot decide…. Any suggestions??

Maybe I should look at my invitation card and work from there….. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you had fun looking at all the colorful decoratives….as well as shopping at the site. Gosh!! Need to place my purchase asap…otherwise no time for shipping!

Deciding on a Wedding Cake provider for my solemnisation was no easy task. I searched quite alot of other options out in the market.

CRUMMB was one of my shortlisted ones…because she really creates awesome wedding cake designs….however due to budget constraints…I had to forgo the idea, eventho i really find her cakes very nice and classy, and I’m super impress by the dedication and effort she puts into designing her cakes.

Luckily, Deborah recommended Super Desserts Market as the owners are her friends from church. And it is through them that I discovered Cupcake pops existed (ok! I am abit slow)….besides the fact that I love the pops…they are rather reasonably priced. With a budget constraint….they are the best options with the best deals.

If u like the idea of cupcake pops, u might like the ones created by Bakerella from U.S., Damn! She is good!! The details she put into her cake n pop deco is absolutely fantastic!! Really!! I guess everybody who’s already in the baking scene would probably know her and besides… Her website is really very pretty too!!

A sample from the Super Desserts Market website. Also very pretty to me! ๐Ÿ™‚

Cupcake Pops

and here’s a version of the ones I bought from them to sample.

And because I gave all of them to my friends…most of those who got the chocolate ones said that it is very nice and it is not too sweet. I’m glad! So as long as my guests thinks its nice…its good enough for me…as I know for a fact that I won’t be the one eating it.

Gonna give it to each of my guest as part of the wedding favour.

The Plan: To place a cupcake pop individually on each seat for each guest…if you know what I mean…(I suck at descriptions). Still contemplating on how I could get it to stand and not topple over and where I should place it…. beside the utensils or above the plate.

The Wedding Cake

Initially the plan was to get a one-tiered cake as a two-tiered would be too expensive….Luckily for me…I ran my idea through with my sis and she offered to pay for the 2-tiered cake as gift. YIPPEE!!! So now I can have a prettier wedding cake.

My idea is to have a replica of Jono’s new Orange Vespa with two of us riding on it..as the cake topper. However….I was actually planning to have my cake in Turqoise or blue…but seeing that the Vespa has been resprayed to orange recently…the combination of orange and turqoise may not be that nice at all. In fact….it will be UGLY!! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

So i’ll have to think harder….and come up with something else……. what colour goes well with orange but still matches my theme?

Should I standardize my pops into pink top with a turquoise / blue topper or button. Then it’ll all look neater and synchronized.

Just realise I haven’t post anything about my colour and theme for the solemnisation. In fact I’ve already got a good idea and plan on my theme for a long time now… and I was having a bit of a problem figuring how I should put the whole theme and idea together to make it look nice and not over done. This entry will be mainly about the ideas I found online…as well as what I came up with. Btw…My theme is Bubble Gum Garden Wedding… ๐Ÿ™‚

Stuff I found online….

I really love this wedding theme. It has all the colours that I really love!!! Pink, Hot Pink, Turqoise, Blue….Deep Purple. Ah…so lovely.

So here is a color swatch for this theme…that i’ll be using as a guide to choose my colors.

I love this person for posting this theme idea! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!!

What do you think? Any suggestions?

I’m intending to have coloured palm fans as part of the wedding favours for my guests. It was initially paper fans or sandalwood fans…BUT! Tooo expensive….not cost efficient at all. And I have to order em from U.S … I can’t seem to find any suppliers from Singapore at all….that sells coloured ones…as well as for an afforadable price. So off I go to a U.S website…luckily for me…there are quite alot out there to choose from..and I found PALM Fans which is sooo…much better than paper fans.

These are the ones I’m thinking of getting.

Hot Pink or Pink ones.

Turqoise Ones.

Courtesy of this U.S wedding favor wedbsite Good Things Wedding Favors…out of so many I browsed through….this website has the cheapest and most reasonable wedding favours. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m thinking of getting lanterns too…to add colour and decorate the place to create the ambience I want.

Will show u more next time…. got to go for now… hope I have more to share the next time round.
